Acting High Commissioner meets the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peshawar on 22nd February 2025.
On 22nd February 2025, A. Christy Ruban, the Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lankan Islamabad met with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem Qazi, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peshawar, along with Sri Lankan students and academic staff at the university premises. The meeting highlighted the longstanding and robust educational ties between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
The Acting High Commissioner was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Naeem Qazi, who emphasized the importance of these strong educational relationships that benefit both nations. Discussions were held regarding the welfare and safety of Sri Lankan students studying at the university. The Vice – Chancellor assured that the university administration is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for international students, ensuring their well-being during their studies.
The Acting High Commissioner expressed appreciation for the university’s efforts in looking after Sri Lankan students and acknowledged the university’s role in enhancing academic collaboration between the two countries. Both sides expressed their desire to further strengthen educational exchanges and deepen ties in the academic sector.
