Sri Lanka High Commission in Islamabad officially commences work for the Year 2025.

Sri Lankan High Commission in Islamabad commenced its work for the new Year 2025 on 01 January, amidst formalities which included the customary raising of the National flag, singing of the national anthem, observing a two-minute silence to commemorate all who sacrificed their lives for the country and reading aloud the Oath of Public Servants.

This year’s oath focused on the government’s initiative ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ which is a vital process aimed at fostering teamwork and accountability to create a prosperous country and better quality of life. All staff members pledged to support this national programme, free from cast, religious, or political prejudices.

The Acting High Commissioner, Christy Ruban, addressed the staff, emphasizing the importance of dedication and commitment in achieving the government’s vision for the nation’s progress. In his speech, he also outlined the goals and objectives of the Mission for the new year and extended his best wishes for a peaceful and prosperous New Year to all staff members and their families.

The ceremony concluded with a serving of traditional Sri Lankan foods and sweets, marking the start of the New Year with simplicity and cultural pride.
