Sri Lankan Delegation with the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs in Islamabad for Gandhara Symposium

A twelve member delegation from Sri Lanka headed by Hon. Vidura Wickramanayaka, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs who is also the guest of honour at the event arrived Islamabad to attend a two day international  symposium on “From Gandhara to the World: The Legacy of Gandhara Buddhism”. The visiting delegation was warmly received by the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan, His Excellency Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunaratne and the staff of the High Commission.

The two-day event aims to bring together religious leaders and experts from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam, besides scholars, diplomats, historians and art enthusiasts to provide them a platform to exchange ideas and foster connections.
